VR VR Mode

ACROWRX supports an immersive Virtual Reality experience that lets you relive your aerobatic flights from the judge's perspective or from inside the cockpit. VR mode uses the WebXR standard and runs directly inside your headset's built-in browser — no extra app to install.

⚠️ - SUBSCRIPTION REQUIRED

VR Mode requires a VR subscription. You can purchase it from your Personal page.

Requirements

RequirementDetails
VR headsetTested on Meta Quest headsets (Quest 2 / Quest 3 / Quest Pro). Other WebXR-capable headsets may work but are not officially tested.
BrowserUse the built-in Meta Quest Browser (Chromium-based). The browser must support WebXR.

How to Enter VR Mode

Follow these steps to start a VR session:

  1. Put on your VR headset and open the built-in browser.
  2. Navigate to www.acrowrx.com and sign in to your account.
  3. Go to your Personal page and open a flight from your Flights database.
  4. Once the flight loads in the Analysis window, the VR VR button becomes available:
    • In the Judge View — the VR button appears in the on-screen button cluster (top-right).
    • In the Chase View — first switch to Airplane Mode Airplane, then the VR button appears below the camera controls.
  5. Click the VR button to enter VR. The headset will automatically switch to the immersive view.

📌 - TIP

If VR does not start automatically, make sure your headset's WebXR permissions are enabled and that you are on an HTTPS connection. You can click the VR button again to retry.

Controller Overview

The diagram below shows the Meta Quest controller layout with the ACROWRX button assignments. The left controller handles time scrubbing (rewind / fast forward), while the right controller handles playback and position adjustments.

Judge VR

In Judge VR mode, you stand on the ground at the judge's position and watch the airplane fly overhead — just as you would during a real competition. You can look around freely by turning your head.

📌 - TIP

Use the zoom and airplane scale controls to adjust visibility. Zooming brings you closer or farther from the box, while scaling makes the airplane model larger or smaller so you can see it clearly at any distance.

Chase VR (Cockpit)

Chase VR places you inside the cockpit of the airplane. The world moves and rotates around you exactly as the airplane flies, giving you a first-person perspective of the flight. This is what we call Airplane Mode in the Chase View.

If the default seating position does not feel right, use the right joystick to move yourself forward, back, or sideways within the cockpit. Hold Grip and push the joystick up/down to adjust your height. Click the joystick button to reset back to the original position.

Exiting VR

To exit VR mode:

  • Click the VR VR button again on the on-screen controls, or
  • Remove your headset — the XR session will end and the view will return to normal.
