Team Assignments
📢 - INFO
An assignment is a flight a coach asks pilots to go fly: a sequence written in OLAN (rendered by OpenAero) or a photo of a sequence card. Pilots fly it, upload the flight and hand it in; the coach and the team's judges then review and score it. Assignments live on the Assignments tab of the Teams page.
For coaches
Create an assignment
Owners and coaches use Assign a flight in the left column of the Teams page.
| Field | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Title | Short name, for example Advanced Known x3 (up to 30 characters). For OLAN assignments it is also the name of the saved sequence. |
| Due | Optional due date. Pilots see it on the assignment and in At a glance. |
| Pilots | Pick one or more team members by their avatar. |
| Sequence | |
| Notes for the pilots | Optional instructions, for example focus on line lengths in figures 3 and 7. |
Choose Assign to send it.
OLAN (OpenAero)
Paste the OLAN string and choose Generate figures from OLAN. This is the same OpenAero integration used to upload sequences on the Personal page: OpenAero draws each figure and works out the K. Once the figures are ready, create the assignment. The sequence is saved to your Seq. list and linked to the pilots' flights, so they can be scored against it.
Sequence card photo
Pick a photo or scan of the sequence card. A preview appears before you assign it.
Follow progress
Each assignment on the Assignments tab shows a line of pilot chips, one per assigned pilot:
- a green dot and Flown, handed in <date> once the pilot has handed in a flight, or Not flown yet;
- an
Analysis button that opens that pilot's flight in Analysis in a new tab, so the Assignments list stays open while you review each flight.
The assignment also shows how many pilots have flown it (for example 1/2 flown). Your At a glance summary totals this for the whole team.
Score handed-in flights from Analysis as usual (see Sharing Flights and ACROWRX Form A). Practice scores feed the team's Progress tab.
Use Delete on an assignment you no longer need. Flights already handed in stay with their pilots and the team.
For pilots
See what to fly
New assignments appear on the Assignments tab and in At a glance (Assignments to fly, with the next due date or how many are overdue). You only see the assignments given to you.
Each assignment shows its title, figure count and K (or Card for a photo), the due date, who assigned it and the coach's notes. Click the thumbnail to view the full sequence or the card photo.
Get the sequence off the screen
| Button | What it does |
|---|---|
| Open in OpenAero (OLAN assignments). Opens ACROWRX's built-in OpenAero in a new tab with the sequence already loaded, so you can study, edit or print it with OpenAero's own tools. | |
| Print the sequence card. For OLAN assignments OpenAero draws the full sequence card (Form B) on white paper; for photo assignments the photo itself is printed. | |
| Download the sequence card as an image: a high-resolution PNG for OLAN assignments, or the original photo. |
📌 - TIP
Printing opens a new window. If nothing happens, allow pop-ups for acrowrx.com. Opening an assignment in OpenAero replaces the sequence last open in ACROWRX's copy of OpenAero.
Hand in your flight
Fly the sequence, upload the flight, and hand it in. Two ways:
- While uploading — in the Analysis upload window choose
Team, then pick the assignment under Hand in for an assignment. See Flight Upload.
- From the Assignments tab — choose
Hand in flight and pick one of your recent flights.
When you hand in a flight:
- if the assignment came from OLAN, the flight is linked to the assignment's sequence (replacing any sequence you picked), so it can be scored against the assigned figures;
- the flight is shared with the team's coaches and judges, unless you already shared it with the whole team;
- it does not go to the ACROWRX public flight list.
After handing in, Open my flight opens it in Analysis.
⚠️ - NOTE
Formation flights can't be handed in. If you leave the team, your assignments on that team are removed.
