OnFlight Installation

OnFlight is a completely self-contained unit that doesn't require permanent installation on your airplane. Like a tablet, phone, or portable ADS-B unit, OnFlight doesn’t require certification to be used.

The most important aspect of the OnFlight installation is its orientation in relation to the airplane.

πŸ“Œ - TIP

It is crucial that OnFlight is aligned with the airplane's axis; however, ACROWRX provides tools to help correct minor misalignments.

OnFlight orientation

There are two methods of installation:

  • GoPro-type mount
  • Velcro installation - preferred method

⚠️ - WARNING

The GoPro-type mount tabs are available on top of the OnFlight unit. The unit will not function if installed upside down. If you need to install OnFlight in a different orientation, you can find instructions on how to adjust the orientation in the OnFlight operation manual. Please visit: Bolder Flight Systems

⚠️ - WARNING

We recommend using 3M Dual-Lock Velcro: 3M Dual-Lock Reclosable Fasteners

πŸ’€ - DANGER

It is your responsibility to ensure that the OnFlight data unit is properly secured for aerobatic flights inside the cockpit of your airplane. Loose items inside an airplane can be hazardous.

Operation

You only need two steps to operate your OnFlight data unit:

  • Install a microSD card into your OnFlight data unit.
  • Flip the switch to the "on" position - towards the center of the unit.

The LEDs on the unit help monitor its behavior:
