Team Mock Competitions
📢 - INFO
A mock competition is a contest that only your team takes part in. It runs on the regular ACROWRX contest system, so you get the same Form A judging, Fair Play, Hard Zero and results as a real contest. Mock competitions are listed on the Mock comps tab of the Teams page.
For coaches and owners
Create a mock competition
Use New mock competition in the left column of the Teams page. Enter a name, the Join by, Upload by and Judging by dates, and optional notes for the pilots. The mock competition is created as a private contest in Draft, and you are its organizer.
Set it up in the Contest Manager
Click the mock competition's row on the Mock comps tab to open it in the Contest Manager. There:
- Add the programs (sequences) for each category — see Contest Sequences.
- Register the team. Back on the Mock comps tab, the
Add team roster button registers every team pilot as an approved pilot, and the team's judges and coaches as judges. People already registered are left as they are. You can also pick people one by one in the Contest Manager; its participant and judge lists only show your team's members.
- Set the contest Live.
Pilots then join from the Contest page, choosing their box location and category, and upload their flights. Judges score from the Contest page, and you publish results from the Contest Manager as usual.
📌 - TIP
Team owners and coaches don't need the can manage contests permission: they can open the Contest Manager for the mock competitions they organize. Create Contest stays reserved for contest managers.
For pilots and judges
The Mock comps tab shows each mock competition's avatar, name and status (Draft, Live or Results), its deadlines, the organizer's notes, how many pilots and judges are registered, and your own status (for example Joined as: Pilot).
Click a live mock competition to open the Contest page, where you join it, upload flights or judge, exactly as for any other contest:
Your At a glance summary tells you when a mock competition is waiting for you to join, or how many you're judging.
Good to know
- Mock competitions are private: they don't appear in other ACROWRX users' contest lists.
- If a pilot leaves the team, they are removed from the team's mock competitions along with the flights they flew there.
- If the team is deleted, its mock competitions stay with their organizer as ordinary private contests.
- On phones, each row shows just the avatar, name, status and the next deadline.
